A heated altercation between Edo State Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Air Peace officials disrupted flight operations at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) in Lagos on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred around 6:10 am when Senator Oshiomhole arrived at the terminal for a flight to Abuja scheduled to depart at 6:30 am. Upon arrival, the senator reportedly demanded to be boarded, stating he had completed online check-in procedures.

However, according to a statement released by Air Peace on Wednesday, the boarding process had already concluded by the time Senator Oshiomhole arrived, and the flight departed as scheduled.

"Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal's entrance," the airline claimed in their statement.

Air Peace further alleged that the senator "went as far as sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, effectively obstructing other passengers from gaining entry into the terminal."

As of the time of filing this report, Senator Oshiomhole has not officially responded to these allegations.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions between high-profile passengers and airline staff over adherence to boarding protocols and schedules at Nigerian airports.
