Manchester United are preparing a significant cash-plus-player offer for Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen, according to reports from Italy.
The Premier League giants are reportedly structuring a deal that would see Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee move to Napoli as part of the arrangement to bring the Super Eagles star to Old Trafford.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United have identified Osimhen as their primary target to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season after the Nigerian turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
Napoli Open to Selling at Right Price
The Italian champions are reportedly willing to part ways with Osimhen for approximately €75 million. They have already received offers from Turkish side Galatasaray, where Osimhen spent the 2024/25 season on loan, and Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal.
Despite Napoli reaching an agreement with Al Hilal, Osimhen officially rejected their fifth offer earlier this week, signaling his preference to continue his career in Europe rather than move to the Middle East.
United's Strategic Approach
Rúben Amorim's side believes they can secure the deal by including Zirkzee, who has just completed his first season at Old Trafford, as part of the package. The two clubs already enjoy a positive relationship following Scott McTominay's £25.7 million transfer from United to Napoli last summer.
The Red Devils are reportedly desperate to strengthen their attacking options and view Osimhen as the ideal candidate to lead their forward line in the coming season.
This development comes after former Nigerian international Brown Ideye recently commented on Osimhen's situation, suggesting that top European clubs should be able to match the reported €400,000 per-week salary offered by Al Hilal.
