Chimaechi Eze, the younger brother of Crystal Palace first-team star Eberechi Eze, has been released by the club following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. The 22-year-old was among 17 academy players let go by the FA Cup champions this summer.

Chimaechi joined Crystal Palace at the beginning of the 2023/24 season after impressing during a trial period. Despite his promising start, he struggled to secure regular playing time with the Under-21 side, appearing in just two matches across the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 competitions without scoring.

The young midfielder will now need to find a new club before the transfer window closes. He is expected to explore opportunities both within the United Kingdom and potentially abroad as the summer transfer window has officially opened.

His older brother Eberechi remains a key figure in Crystal Palace's first team, having established himself as one of the Premier League's standout performers in recent seasons.

Crystal Palace's decision to release these academy players comes after their recent FA Cup triumph, which has secured them a place in the Europa League for the upcoming season.
