Nigeria international winger Moses Simon has decided against joining another French club this summer, despite growing interest from several Ligue 1 sides, BenriNews reports.
The 29-year-old, who has spent the last five years with Nantes, has entered the final year of his contract with the Canaries, fueling speculation about his future.
French Clubs Interested But Simon Looks Elsewhere
According to French news outlet Live Foot, Simon has explicitly ruled out transferring to another club within France, despite reported interest from Olympic Marseille, Stade Rennes, and a newly promoted Ligue 1 side.
The pacy winger is instead looking to continue his career outside of France, with Premier League club Everton emerging as a potential destination. The Merseyside club is reportedly lining up a bid for the Nigerian star.
Simon's Nantes Legacy
Since joining Nantes in 2019, Simon has established himself as a key player for the French side. His performances have earned him recognition in the Ligue 1 Team of the Week on multiple occasions, including a memorable wonder strike against Rennes.
The winger has also been a consistent performer for the Super Eagles, recently warning that "no game is easy in Africa" ahead of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, though he was doubtful for some World Cup qualifying fixtures due to fitness concerns.
As the transfer window progresses, all eyes will be on Simon's next move, with the Nigerian seemingly set on a new challenge outside of French football after half a decade in Ligue 1.
