The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has issued a stern warning to members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State against acts of insubordination to party leadership.
Matawalle delivered this caution on Sunday while receiving APC executives from Anka, Bakura, Maradun, and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas who paid him Sallah homage at his residence in Maradun.
The immediate past governor of Zamfara emphasized that party members should be grateful for having leaders who prioritize the people's interests. He specifically commended former governor Abdul'aziz Yari for his commitment to developing both the party and the state.
"As I always say, myself, Abdul'aziz Yari and other APC leaders in the state, we have been trying our best to improve the welfare of our members and good people of the state," Matawalle stated.
"I am using this medium to call on you to continue to support the party, we should avoid any acts of insubordination to the leadership of our great party. We should ignore any call to destroy the unity of our great party in the state," he admonished.
Call for Patience and Support for Tinubu's Administration
The Defence Minister urged APC members to remain patient, assuring them that more job opportunities were forthcoming. He also called on Zamfara residents to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu's administration.
Matawalle highlighted several infrastructure projects planned under Tinubu's administration, including the Mayanchi to Guru and Gusau-Isah-Sabon Birni highways, which he said would benefit the state significantly.
The minister's comments come amid what appears to be concerns about party unity in Zamfara State, with his warning suggesting potential internal challenges within the state's APC chapter.
