President Bola Tinubu has lauded the Dangote Refinery as a "massive investment" and a significant point of reference during his visit to the facility in Lagos on Thursday.

According to a statement released by the State House, the President expressed gratitude to Aliko Dangote, founder of the Dangote Group, for the initiative that has become a landmark project in Nigeria's industrial landscape.

During the same visit, Tinubu commissioned the access road to the Lekki Deep Sea Port, praising Dangote Industries Limited and the contractor for delivering what he described as "quality" work.

Presidential Pride in Infrastructure Development

The President reflected on his role in initiating the Deep Sea Port project during his tenure as Lagos State Governor, expressing satisfaction with how the project has evolved into "a huge success today."

"I commend the quality of the access road done by Messrs Dangote Industries Limited on our Tax Credit Road programme and the subcontractor, Messrs Hitech Construction Company Limited," Tinubu stated.

He highlighted the economic benefits of the port, noting that users now save substantial amounts of money as they no longer need to trans-ship their goods.

Private Sector Commitment

In response, Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, expressed appreciation to Tinubu for his vision and implementation of the Lekki Deep Sea Port project.

Dangote assured the President of continued support from the private sector for infrastructure expansion initiatives across Nigeria, reinforcing the partnership between government and business in driving national development.

The Dangote Refinery, which has been described as Africa's largest oil refinery, represents a significant step toward energy self-sufficiency for Nigeria, potentially reducing the country's dependence on imported petroleum products.
