France national team coach Didier Deschamps has thrown his full support behind Ousmane Dembélé to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or award, stating the Paris Saint-Germain star "deserves it 100%."

Speaking ahead of France's UEFA Nations League semi-final clash with Spain, Deschamps highlighted Dembélé's exceptional season as the primary reason for his endorsement.

Treble Success Boosts Dembélé's Chances

Dembélé recently capped off a remarkable campaign by helping PSG secure the UEFA Champions League title last weekend, where he was subsequently named player of the season. The triumph completed a treble for the French giants, who also claimed the Ligue 1 championship and the Coupe de France.

"Obviously, this Nations League can bring some elements of response, the Club World Cup too. If I have to choose, I tell you Ous, 100%, of course," Deschamps told reporters.

"But obviously, Ousmane, with the season he is having, deserves it."

Yamal Rivalry Adds Intrigue

The upcoming Nations League semi-final between France and Spain adds another layer of intrigue to the Ballon d'Or conversation, as Spanish sensation Lamine Yamal—another leading contender for the prestigious award—will be facing off against Dembélé.

Deschamps acknowledged the competition, noting: "If you ask me about the Spaniards, I don't think they will tell you the same thing."

The Nations League tournament and upcoming Club World Cup could prove decisive in determining which player ultimately claims football's most coveted individual prize.

With several months still remaining before the award ceremony, Dembélé's performances in these crucial international competitions could further strengthen his case as the frontrunner for the 2025 Ballon d'Or.
