Twenty players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in London as preparations intensify for the upcoming Unity Cup invitational tournament, with Nigeria's first match scheduled against Ghana on Wednesday.
According to reports, ten home-based players and their officials arrived in London on Monday morning, with ten foreign-based professionals joining them later in the day.
Five additional players are still expected to report to camp, including Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie, Christantus Uche, Samuel Chukwueze, and Tolu Arokodare.
The Super Eagles will face their eternal rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana, at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, London, on Wednesday. This fixture continues the long-standing football rivalry between the two West African nations.
The Unity Cup tournament will kick off with Jamaica taking on Trinidad and Tobago in the opening match before Nigeria and Ghana face off.
This tournament comes as Ghana's coach Otto Addo has already unveiled his 23-man squad for the competition, though reports suggest the Black Stars will be missing some key players for the match against Nigeria.
The Unity Cup serves as valuable preparation for the Super Eagles ahead of their upcoming competitive fixtures and provides an opportunity for the coaching staff to assess both home-based talents and foreign-based professionals in an international setting.
