Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin has issued a stark warning to his old club about the threat posed by Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood ahead of Sunday's crucial Premier League season finale.
The match carries significant weight as both teams battle for Champions League qualification, with Chelsea currently sitting fifth on 66 points, just one point above Forest.
Nevin expressed particular concern about Chelsea's defensive capabilities against Wood, who has enjoyed an impressive season with 20 goals in 35 Premier League appearances for Forest.
"Anthony Elanga and Chris Wood, they are good players who are hard to deal with," Nevin said, as quoted by Chelsea Chronicle. "Colwill is a little older now, but he will need all the experience in the world to keep Wood quiet."
The former Blues winger was particularly complimentary of Wood's attacking prowess, adding: "Wood has had a brilliant season. His movement is superb and he's so intelligent. If Chelsea can keep Wood from scoring, I think Chelsea will win."
Enzo Maresca's Chelsea side enters the final day knowing that a victory would secure Champions League football for next season, while Nottingham Forest could leapfrog them with a win at the City Ground.
The high-stakes encounter will determine which club joins the elite European competition next season, with Chelsea's defense facing the significant challenge of containing Forest's prolific New Zealand international striker.
