Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club, signaling the end of the young winger's time at Old Trafford, according to The Athletic.

The 20-year-old Argentine, who has contributed 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 appearances for United this season, is reportedly not part of Amorim's plans for the 2024/2026 campaign.

Tensions escalated after Garnacho was left on the bench for Wednesday night's Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur, only being introduced for the final 19 minutes of the match.

Following the match, Garnacho's brother and agent, Roberto Garnacho, took to social media to question Amorim's decision, writing on Instagram: "Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe hahahahahaha."

The player himself expressed disappointment after the final whistle, telling reporters: "I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes. I don't know. I will try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens."

When questioned about his decision to bench Garnacho, Amorim appeared to criticize the player's previous performances, saying: "It's easy to say that now. Who missed the big opportunity in the first half in the semi-final? Garnacho. Football is like that."

This public fallout suggests a significant rift between the manager and the young talent, who has been one of United's bright spots in an otherwise challenging season.

The news comes as Amorim continues to assess his squad ahead of what is expected to be a summer of significant changes at Manchester United, with several players potentially heading for the exit door as the Portuguese manager looks to rebuild the team according to his vision.
