The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Falcons will play two international friendly matches against Cameroon at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo and the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.

According to the NFF, the first match is scheduled to take place at the Remo Stars Stadium on Saturday, May 31, 2025, while the second encounter will be held at the newly-renovated MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.

These friendly matches are part of the Super Falcons' preparations for the upcoming 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament. The nine-time African champions will be looking to regain their dominance on the continent after their last competitive action against France in December.

Head coach Justine Madugu will use these matches to fine-tune his squad ahead of the continental showpiece. The Super Falcons have been drawn in Group B of WAFCON 2024, where they will face Botswana, Tunisia, and Algeria in the group stage.

The 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to kick off on July 5, 2025, with Morocco serving as the host nation. Nigeria, as the most successful team in the competition's history with nine titles, will be aiming to reclaim the trophy they last won in 2018.

Football fans in Ogun State will have the rare opportunity to watch the Super Falcons in action as they prepare for their continental campaign. The choice of venues in Ikenne and Abeokuta also highlights the NFF's efforts to take national team matches to different parts of the country.
