Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has admitted that he believes he has "a good chance" to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or following his exceptional performances this season.

In a recent interview with former Manchester United captain Gary Neville on Sky Sports, the Egyptian star opened up about his relationship with football's most prestigious individual award.

"It [Ballon d'Or] used to drive me crazy before," Salah revealed. "Some stuff is not in your hands so you give up in that direction."

The 32-year-old, who recently helped Liverpool secure the Premier League title, expressed his desire to claim the award while acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding it.

"I would love to win it one day. But if it did not happen, I don't know what to do. I am sure there is a good chance to win it this year, but we will see," he added.

Salah's confidence is backed by impressive statistics from the 2024/25 campaign, during which he has scored 33 goals and provided 23 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool.

The former Chelsea and AS Roma forward had previously stated his desire to win the Ballon d'Or "for his people," highlighting the personal significance of potentially becoming the first Egyptian to claim the award.

Salah is expected to face stiff competition for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, with players like Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal also considered among the frontrunners for the prestigious prize.

The Egyptian's remarkable contribution to Liverpool's Premier League triumph this season has significantly boosted his credentials in what could be a closely contested race for football's highest individual honor.
