Veteran broadcaster Layi Oyawa, the Managing Director and pioneer head of Adanimogo FM, Ido-Ekiti, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy in Nigeria's broadcasting industry.

Oyawa, who built a distinguished career spanning many years, began his professional journey after receiving training at the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG). His expertise and passion for journalism saw him rise through the ranks at the Ekiti State Broadcasting Service (Radio/TV), where he became a household name.

As the founding head of Adanimogo FM, Oyawa was instrumental in establishing the station as a trusted and influential media outlet in Ekiti State. Under his leadership, the station developed a strong identity focused on local content and community engagement while serving as a training ground for emerging talent in the broadcasting field.

Colleagues and media professionals have described his death as a monumental loss to the media industry, not only in Ekiti but across Nigeria. Many remember him not just as a consummate professional but also as a mentor and father figure who guided numerous young journalists and broadcasters throughout his career.
