The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Falcons will play two international friendly matches against Cameroon at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo and the Moshood Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
According to the NFF, the first match is scheduled to take place at the Remo Stars Stadium on Saturday, May 31, 2025, while the second encounter will be held at the newly-renovated MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta.
These friendly matches are part of the Super Falcons' preparations for the upcoming 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament to be hosted by Morocco from July 5, 2025.
The nine-time African champions, under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, were last in action against France's Les Bleues in December last year. The team is looking to regain their competitive edge ahead of the continental championship.
At WAFCON 2024, the Super Falcons have been drawn in Group B alongside Botswana, Tunisia, and Algeria. The Nigerian team will be aiming to reclaim the title they have won a record nine times.
The choice of venues reflects the NFF's efforts to promote football across different regions of Nigeria, with the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne and the renovated MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta providing suitable facilities for international matches.
Football fans in Ogun State will have the rare opportunity to watch the Super Falcons in action as they prepare for their continental campaign in Morocco.
