Sheffield United have secured their place in the Championship playoff final following another commanding 3-0 victory over Bristol City on Monday at Bramall Lane.

The Blades, who had already established a comfortable lead with a 3-0 win in the first leg last week, completed a remarkable 6-0 aggregate triumph to advance to the final at Wembley Stadium.

Kieffer Moore opened the scoring for Sheffield United before Gustavo Hamer and Callum O'Hare added further goals to seal the comprehensive victory, mirroring the scoreline from the first encounter.

The South Yorkshire club will now await the outcome of Tuesday's second semi-final between Sunderland and Coventry City. Sunderland currently hold a 2-1 advantage heading into the second leg at the Stadium of Light.

Sheffield United are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season, where they managed just three wins throughout their 38-game campaign. Despite their struggles in the top flight, they have shown remarkable resilience this season, finishing third in the Championship behind automatically promoted Leeds United and Burnley.

The Championship playoff final is scheduled for May 24 at Wembley Stadium, with the winner securing the coveted third and final promotion spot to the Premier League for the 2025/2026 season.
