The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has charged members of the 2025 Batch A Stream I of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to embrace selfless service and dedication during their service year.

Speaking at the official closing ceremony of the three-week orientation exercise held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area on Tuesday, Ibas emphasized the importance of meeting the aspirations of their host communities.

The Sole Administrator, represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, Prof. Ibibia Lucky Worika, urged the Corps members to uphold the highest standards of responsibility and patriotism throughout their service year.

"Your service is an opportunity to leave lasting legacies in your host communities. Approach your assignments with commitment, innovation, and a genuine desire to make a difference," Ibas stated in a statement signed by the Head of the Press Unit, Juliana Masi.

The Sole Administrator further assured the Corps members of the hospitality and goodwill of the people of Rivers State, encouraging them to integrate fully and contribute meaningfully to the state's development.

Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, also addressed the Corps members, commending them for their exceptional performance during the orientation course "despite the demands of regimented camp life."

Oleghe expressed confidence in their preparedness to excel in the next phase of their service year, where they will be deployed to key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and rural infrastructure.

The State Coordinator further appealed to stakeholders, community leaders, and employers to support the Corps members with conducive accommodation and adequate welfare provisions to enable optimal performance during their service year.
