Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has rubbished Jamie Carragher's recent comments suggesting that midfielder Declan Rice might consider leaving the Gunners if they fail to secure silverware next season.
Following Arsenal's 2-2 Premier League draw with Liverpool last weekend, Carragher had speculated about Rice's future at the Emirates, suggesting the England international might reassess his options if Arsenal's trophy drought continues into next season.
Speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, the Arsenal legend expressed disbelief at Carragher's remarks: "Wow. So we have not even finished this season and he is talking about [Arsenal] not doing anything next season... and then someone [Declan Rice] might leave in the next season."
"No, I can't believe that he [Jamie Carragher] has said something like that because I am excited about next season with Arsenal. They are getting better and better, they are contending consistently," Seaman added.
The former England goalkeeper further dismissed any concerns about Rice's commitment to Arsenal, stating: "We end up playing PSG that were a fantastic team so Declan will stay. There is no problem, not at all."
Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United in 2023 after the Gunners outbid Manchester City for his signature. Since his arrival at the Emirates Stadium, the midfielder has quickly established himself as a fan favourite and a key component of Mikel Arteta's squad.
Arsenal are currently in a tight Premier League title race, with the Gunners hoping to secure their first league championship since the 2003-04 'Invincibles' season.
