Former Rangers striker, Ally McCoist, has backed Arsenal to win the Premier League title next season ahead of current champions Liverpool, despite the Gunners missing out on silverware this campaign.
Arsenal, who will finish the 2024/25 season without a trophy following their Champions League elimination by Paris Saint-Germain, have been tipped by McCoist to claim the English top-flight crown if they make key additions to their squad.
"I think Arsenal will win the Premier League next season," McCoist told talkSPORT BET. "As long as they sign a couple of players – one being an out-and-out centre forward, there is no reason why Arsenal can't go and kick on again."
The pundit highlighted Arsenal's solid defensive foundation and midfield talent as reasons for his optimism about their title prospects. "They have got some brilliant players; their back four is solid, Myles Lewis-Skelly has come in, Martin Odegaard's form has dipped but he is still a wonderful player and Declan Rice has been out of this world," he added.
McCoist also assessed the competition, noting Manchester City's recovery from a mid-season slump and Liverpool's potential to build on their success after retaining key players Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.
"Liverpool will take a lot of confidence from holding onto Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk and there is no doubt they will go and strengthen in the summer," McCoist observed.
Despite acknowledging the strength of their rivals, McCoist remained confident in his prediction: "If Arsenal sign a top striker and strengthen their bench, I can honestly see them going and winning the league next season."
Mikel Arteta's side will be looking to end their Premier League title drought, having last won the competition in the 2003/04 season under Arsène Wenger's management.
